Overview

TalentSource is seeking a self-motivated Terminal Manager for a logistics and transportation organization in Houston. This role involves overseeing all facility operations to ensure that performance meets or exceeds customer expectations and internal goals, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure effective communication with internal teams, customers, agents, and partner stations regarding freight status and availability
  • Analyze and audit daily reports to identify performance trends and efficiency improvements
  • Lead, motivate, and support the operations team in a time-sensitive environment
  • Implement process improvements as needed
  • Maintain communication with management regarding service failures and develop corrective procedures
  • Promote effective conflict resolution and quality control
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and oversee hiring, onboarding, and training
  • Enforce company policies and safety standards
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of shipment documentation
  • Supervise daily receiving schedules and direct drivers

Required skills

  • Management experience of five or more years
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in coaching and development
  • Professional communication and conflict resolution abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office and freight operating systems (e.g., AS400, TMW, Alpha Truck, Freight Data)
  • Detail-oriented decision-maker with a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights or weekends
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Relevant experience in transportation, logistics, or customer service
