Overview

The Telecom Engineer at PacifiCorp is responsible for designing and troubleshooting telecommunications and network systems. This role involves programming telecommunication equipment, providing consulting to various business units, and managing minor projects and system upgrades.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement telecommunications and network systems
  • Provide provisioning and programming for telecom equipment
  • Act as a consultant for other business units on networking issues
  • Serve as project manager on minor projects or system upgrades
  • Assist with systems capacity planning and make recommendations
  • Create and maintain documentation for projects
  • Write equipment specifications and purchase equipment
  • Analyze system problems and implement solutions
  • Provide technical input for project planning
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Three years of telecommunications or networking experience
  • Documentation skills using computer-aided design software
  • Knowledge of circuit design and telecommunications technologies
  • Understanding of large call center operations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
