Job Description

Overview

The Technical Trainer at WestRock plays a vital role in enhancing the skills and certification of team members within the manufacturing environment. Reporting to the site General Manager and the Operations Learning & Development leader, this individual will implement training programs, conduct assessments, and support new hire onboarding processes, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct daily technical training to certify team members in their roles.
  • Support New Hire Orientation and onboarding training.
  • Track and evaluate training effectiveness using company standards.
  • Assist in creating site-specific technical learning solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trainees and leaders.
  • Participate in the hiring process and assess candidates' skills.
  • Conduct training on all shifts and promote safety-minded practices.
  • Manage day-to-day certification processes.

Required skills

  • 1 - 3 years experience in conducting training in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 - 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Forms)
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Accountability and decision-making abilities
  • Innovation in training processes and technologies
