Overview

The Technical Supervisor (Blood Bank) at Sonora Quest Laboratories is responsible for overseeing and directing the workflow of the Blood Services department. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with various accreditation standards, and improving processes to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate staff performance including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions
  • Manage labor and resources while adhering to budgetary guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory bodies such as CAP, CMS, AABB, FDA, and OSHA
  • Lead initiatives for service quality and compliance effectiveness
  • Facilitate communication within the organization and with partners

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant scientific field
  • Experience in high-complexity testing
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of quality control and process improvement methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean
