Overview

The Technical Specialist III role at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation involves managing complex engineering projects requiring significant technological advancements. The position requires leadership in certifying engineering documentation and making authoritative technical decisions that impact engineering activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects with critical problems requiring technological advances.
  • Generate, review, and support engineering documentation for certification programs.
  • Make technical decisions that have significant impacts on engineering activities.
  • Review and approve certification deliverables including compliance reports and issue papers.
  • Develop work methods and standard operating procedures for certification processes.
  • Recommend process improvements and develop certification strategies for aircraft.
  • Create compliance checklists for airworthiness and environmental regulations.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and civil aviation authority on certification projects.
  • Participate in industry conferences and committees related to aviation certification.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • Thirteen years of experience in airworthiness engineering
  • Experience with aircraft certification processes and the aircraft development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with FAA 14 CFR Part 21, Part 25, and Part 183
  • Understanding of FAA, EASA, and ODA regulations
  • Master's degree with eleven years of experience or Ph.D. with nine years of experience in similar fields in lieu of Bach
  • Legal authority to work in the U.S.
