Job Description

Overview

Astound is seeking a Technical Solutions Trainer to deliver high-quality training programs for employees in customer service and technical operations. The trainer will develop curricula and lead training sessions aimed at enhancing employees' skills in sales performance, customer interactions, installation procedures, and troubleshooting within the context of the telecommunications industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging training sessions for employees in sales, customer service, installation, and trouble-call processes
  • Develop and maintain training materials, job aids, manuals, and e-learning content
  • Conduct hands-on technical training for new-hire field technicians
  • Evaluate trainee performance and provide coaching and feedback throughout the training cycle
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to align training with business goals and industry standards
  • Teach customer-service fundamentals including empathy and issue-resolution strategies
  • Monitor trainee progress and recommend improvements to training programs based on feedback and operational needs
  • Ensure training programs comply with safety standards and include best practices for field safety

Required skills

  • 5+ years of technical installation and troubleshooting experience
  • 2+ years of facilitation and successful sales experience
  • Proficiency in RF theory, digital theory, and IP networking basics
  • Experience in training and coaching in customer service and technical environments
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications products and services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple training classes
  • Instructional design knowledge including adult learning theory
