Overview

Viken Detection is looking for a Technical Program Manager who has a strong foundation in systems engineering. This role involves managing complex engineering programs from inception to completion while ensuring seamless integration across various technical domains.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and coordinate multiple interrelated projects to align with program and organizational objectives.
  • Define program scope, objectives, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.
  • Develop and execute detailed schedules, identifying risks and bottlenecks proactively.
  • Translate customer and regulatory needs into actionable technical requirements.
  • Facilitate regular technical meetings to keep execution on track.
  • Advocate for appropriate staffing and resource levels to enable program success.
  • Serve as a primary technical contact between engineering and stakeholders.
  • Lead high-level system architecture and integration across domains.
  • Identify and mitigate program-level technical, schedule, and cost risks.
  • Establish and maintain a structured source of truth for program documentation.
  • Lead the creation of assembly documentation and test procedures.
  • Optimize data organization to support rapid decision-making across teams.

Required skills

  • Hands-on engineering experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Mechatronics.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience and 3 years of program or project management experience.
  • Proficiency with PLM systems, Jira (or equivalent), Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and scheduling tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and interpret CAD models.
