Job Description

Overview

The Technical / Field Service Technician at Metalcraft of Mayville will provide top-notch technical service support for outdoor power equipment across a designated territory including Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. This role involves significant travel, particularly during peak seasons, to assist dealers with equipment troubleshooting, diagnosis, and training.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle dealer and customer technical support via calls, emails, and on-site visits.
  • Assist dealers and end users with machine troubleshooting and diagnosis.
  • Provide in-field support to dealers when applicable.
  • Participate in dealer training seminars and assist in training material development.
  • Complete field reports detailing issues and resolutions.
  • Cooperate with Scag Territory Sales Managers on service and warranty concerns.

Required skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.
  • Experience in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Knowledge of outdoor power equipment and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Education in Technical Service or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Advanced hydraulic and electrical knowledge including schematics interpretation.
