Job Description

Overview

The Technical / Field Service Technician will provide best-in-class technical support for outdoor power equipment in a designated territory that includes Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. This role requires significant travel, working remotely while being accountable for dealer and customer technical support and training.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle dealer and customer technical support calls and emails for the specified territory
  • Manage workload efficiently and assist Scag Territory Sales Managers with service, warranty, and parts concerns
  • Assist dealers and end users with troubleshooting, diagnosis and parts questions
  • Provide on-site support to dealers when applicable
  • Complete field reports detailing issues and resolutions
  • Assist with customer contacts from social media and email
  • Participate in dealer training seminars and assist in creating training materials
  • Evaluate existing programs and make recommendations for improvements

Required skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Detail-oriented and organized with multitasking abilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional team environments
  • Knowledge of outdoor power equipment and mechanical diagnostics
  • Advanced hydraulic and electrical knowledge with schematics interpretation
  • Associate degree in Technical service or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of related experience
