Overview

The Team Leader - Mortgage at Midland States Bank is responsible for managing a team of mortgage loan originators while driving residential mortgage loan production. This leadership role focuses on achieving sales goals, fostering relationships with referral sources, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a team of mortgage loan originators and conduct performance management activities
  • Develop and nurture relationships with referral sources to generate new business opportunities
  • Achieve team production goals and monitor compliance with regulations
  • Conduct business plan reviews with the sales team
  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethical sales practices

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams
  • 5 years' experience in real estate/mortgage sales
  • Strong entrepreneurial and business development/sales skills
  • Knowledge of FHA, FNMA, and FHLMS underwriting guidelines
  • NMLS State License or Federal NMLS Registration
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
