Overview

The Team Lead: Billing, Financial & Insurance Assistance & Revenue Cycle Oversight at the Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. will oversee critical aspects of the revenue cycle, including internal and outsourced billing services and financial assistance. This role focuses on ensuring timely access to insurance and financial assistance for patients while maintaining compliance and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the internal liaison between CIFC Health and the outsourced billing vendor.
  • Monitor revenue cycle performance metrics like claim submission timeliness and denial trends.
  • Review billing and financial reports to identify discrepancies or compliance concerns.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with the billing vendor and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various teams to support accurate revenue capture.
  • Oversee internal billing processes for self-pay and sliding fee accounts.
  • Ensure accurate patient statements and follow-up on billing accounts.
  • Lead and support the Financial & Insurance Assistance team.
  • Monitor staff schedules to ensure patient access to financial assistance services.
  • Improve clean claim rates and reduce denial trends.

Required skills

  • Fluency in English; Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in medical billing and healthcare financial assistance
  • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
