Job Description

Overview

The Teaching Assistant for the Summer Jazz Academy at Jazz at Lincoln Center will provide instructional and logistical support for the program. This temporary, full-time position involves working closely with faculty to assist in class preparation, rehearsal setup, and facilitating music education for students in a collaborative learning environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist faculty during classes, sectionals, and ensemble rehearsals
  • Help run musical demonstrations and manage instructional materials
  • Provide occasional direct instruction or coaching to students
  • Prepare rehearsal spaces and ensure equipment is organized
  • Support daily program operations and maintain a professional learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with faculty and program staff
