Job Description

Overview

Zach Theater is seeking passionate Teaching Artists for its Conservatory Acting Program, aimed at inspiring young performers through high-quality instruction in Acting, Voice, Movement, and Speech. These roles are independent contractor positions, based at the North and Downtown locations of the theater, where Teaching Artists will lead small classes on Sundays.

Key responsibilities

  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Zach Theater
  • Teach classes in Acting, Voice, Movement, and Speech
  • Communicate effectively with families, students, teachers, and staff
  • Design, develop, and deliver curricula for classes
  • Write student evaluations and substitute teach if needed
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Adhere to student and parent handbooks, protocols, and safety guidelines

Required skills

  • BA in Theater, BFA or MFA in Acting or related field
  • At least one year of experience teaching acting or musical theatre to students aged 13-18
  • Demonstrated skill in curriculum design and development
  • Classroom management and supervision skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work individually and in teams
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
