Job Description

Overview

The Teacher for the MSU Paid Practicum at L.E. Cox Medical Centers is responsible for creating a safe and healthy learning environment while promoting the positive development of children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. This role involves assisting Lead Teachers with academic and non-academic activities and ensuring compliance with state regulations. The position is aimed at individuals passionate about early childhood education and who enjoy helping children reach their developmental milestones.

Key responsibilities

  • Help maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Assist Lead Teachers in planning and coordinating activities.
  • Teach and implement learning objectives for all ages and classrooms.
  • Greet parents and children during drop-off and pick-up.
  • Perform daily tasks such as diapering, potty training, and cleaning.
  • Ensure compliance with state mandated child/staff ratios.
  • Participate in a team focused on early childhood growth and learning.

Required skills

  • Minimum of 6 college hours in education or early childhood education.
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
