Overview

United Counseling Service of Bennington County Inc is seeking a Teacher to develop and implement curriculum for a Head Start program in North Bennington, Vermont. This role involves working closely with children, families, and staff to provide pre-school educational opportunities while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement curriculum for Head Start in accordance with performance standards.
  • Conduct home visits and family conferences.
  • Complete behavioral and developmental observations and assessments.
  • Create a welcoming and secure atmosphere for children and parents.
  • Collaborate with staff, consultants, and specialists to meet individual children’s needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of each child's attendance and interactions.
  • Ensure the safety of children and adhere to regulations.
  • Encourage parent involvement and act as a liaison for families.
  • Supervise classroom staff and volunteers.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Vermont licensure in Early Childhood Education.
  • Experience teaching pre-school children preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
