Overview

The Tax Manager at True Oil LLC will oversee the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns while providing leadership and support to the tax accounting team. This full-time, on-site position in Casper, Wyoming, emphasizes integrity and growth within a supportive work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and review all federal and state income tax returns
  • Provide feedback and guidance on tax returns completed by tax accountants
  • Oversee workload distribution and ensure accuracy of deliverables
  • Conduct tax research and prepare memos on complex issues
  • Develop structured training programs and materials on tax issues
  • Represent tax issues with outside departments by being a Power of Attorney
  • Evaluate tax software effectiveness and implement process improvements
  • Support IRS and state audit responses
  • Assist with estimated federal and state tax payments
  • Supervise and mentor tax accountants

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Six or more years of tax experience
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Advanced knowledge in accounting and tax law
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to use professional tax software
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written
