Overview

The Tax Manager role at Engage Search Partners offers an opportunity to manage both income tax accounting and compliance within a well-established organization in South Jersey. This position involves a balanced mix of responsibilities, including tax provisions, compliance, planning, and strategy, and allows for significant visibility and career progression.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns
  • Manage quarterly and annual tax provisions (ASC 740)
  • Prepare and review estimated tax payments and extensions
  • Support tax audits and respond to regulatory inquiries
  • Maintain and reconcile income tax accounts and journal entries
  • Conduct tax research and monitor changes in tax law
  • Partner with internal teams on tax planning and forecasting
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies
  • Support strategic initiatives and business growth from a tax perspective

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or Masters preferred)
  • 5-8 years of experience in tax accounting / income tax compliance
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740 and corporate tax reporting
  • Experience with tax software (Corptax, OneSource, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
