Overview

The Tax Manager role at CIG in Englewood, Colorado involves transitioning from compliance to strategic partnership within a complex tax environment. As this is a newly created position, the candidate will have the opportunity to shape the role, define best practices, and grow responsibilities in managing tax strategies related to real estate, investments, and philanthropic decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for various entities
  • Lead tax planning and projections
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors on filings and complex positions
  • Own the tax calendar for accurate compliance
  • Support tax structuring of investments alongside CFO
  • Conduct technical research on taxation matters
  • Review K-1s and maintain documentation
  • Implement process improvements in the tax function
  • Monitor legislative changes affecting the organization

Required skills

  • 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting or family office
  • Strong expertise in partnership and trust taxation
  • Experience with real estate investments and private equity structures
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented and collaborative professional
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • Master's degree in Taxation (preferred)
  • CPA designation (required)
