Overview

The Tax Manager role at CIG in Englewood, Colorado, is a newly created position focused on moving beyond compliance to strategic partnership. The role involves managing complex tax environments, with opportunities to shape tax strategies that inform real estate, investment, and philanthropic decisions. This position offers visibility and impact within a collaborative team dedicated to long-term value creation.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for diverse entities
  • Lead tax planning and projections, modeling tax impacts on investment decisions
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors for filings and complex tax positions
  • Own the tax calendar ensuring accurate compliance throughout the year
  • Support tax structuring of real estate and private equity investments
  • Conduct technical research on partnership taxation and trust matters
  • Review K-1s and maintain organized documentation across the structure
  • Implement process improvements for efficiency in the tax function
  • Monitor legislative changes affecting the organization

Required skills

  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a family office
  • Strong technical expertise in partnership and trust taxation
  • Experience with real estate and private equity investments
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • Master's degree in Taxation (preferred)
  • CPA designation (required)
