Overview

Join Choctaw Premier Services as a Transition Counselor with the TAP Forward Transition Support Team, where you'll play a vital role in guiding Service Members and their families through significant life transitions. In this position, you'll provide personalized career counseling, facilitate workshops, and offer support to military personnel preparing for civilian life.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one career counseling to help Soldiers develop transition goals and strategies.
  • Assist in creating and refining Individual Transition Plans (ITPs) and résumés.
  • Coordinate and facilitate DOL Employment Workshops and VA Benefits Briefings.
  • Deliver comprehensive Transition Briefings to inform Soldiers about available services.
  • Conduct pre-separation counseling sessions to ensure awareness of services.
  • Lead outreach activities to promote transition services.
  • Collect and analyze feedback to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with the Program Work Statement and contract instructions.

Required skills

  • Master's degree preferred in Training and Development, HR Management, Counseling, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of career counseling or related experience.
  • Two years of experience with Military lifestyle desired.
  • In-depth understanding of Military culture and Command structure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively.
  • Familiarity with career counseling and transition services.
  • Curriculum development experience is a plus.
