Overview In this role you will help design and validate next gen Mac and iPad hardware. You'll collaborate with design, software, marketing, and manufacturing teams to shape product forms and performance. You work on predictive modeling, DOEs, FEA, and CAD to drive robust mechanical designs and manufacturing-ready solutions. You will build prototypes and participate in reviews to refine risk, reliability, and overall product quality. This is an opportunity to impact scalable hardware across cross functional teams at Apple. ResponsibilitiesCreate 3D CAD models and 2D documentation for parts and assemblies using Unigraphics/NXPerform DFMEA/FMEA to guide design decisions and mitigate risksDevelop predictive analytic and finite element models to anticipate behavior under loadsValidate designs through iterations, testing, and failure analysis to implement corrective actionsCollaborate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and cross functional problem solvingDevelop and analyze manufacturing and assembly processes with external vendorsGenerate data visualizations (e.g., JMP) to communicate results and trade-offsIdentify appropriate manufacturing methods (CNC, stamping, forming, casting, injection molding, 3D printing) balancing cost, quality, and reliabilityCreate CAD models for investigations and prototype integration, and compare to predictive modelsPrepare clear 2D documentation and present results using Keynote Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field2 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering rolesExperience with 3D CAD (Unigraphics/NX) and 2D documentationGD&T proficiency to define critical dimensions and tolerancesMechanical/system modeling for initial parameter estimationDFMEA/FMEA experience for design and reliability decisionsFEA modeling and interpretation to refine designs and boundariesData visualization with JMP to communicate mechanical testing and performance metricsPresentation skills using Keynote to convey designs, risks, and trade-offsAbility to determine best manufacturing method from various techniques (CNC, stamping, forming, casting, injection molding, 3D printing)Cross functional collaborationStrong problem solving and analytical thinkingEffective communication and presentationUnigraphics/NX CADGD&TFMEA/DFMEA
