Job Description

Overview

Serverfarm is looking for a Senior Vice President of Operations to lead global operations and drive growth in their data center portfolio. This role focuses on establishing operational standards, ensuring compliance, and improving service delivery as the company expands in response to increasing demand for data center capacity driven by AI and cloud migration.

Key responsibilities

  • Deputize for the COO, providing leadership across global operations and major business initiatives
  • Establish and govern global operational standards and performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and customer commitments
  • Oversee business continuity and crisis management processes
  • Lead the global safety program and critical environment management
  • Establish executive relationships with key hyperscale and enterprise customers
  • Lead operational service delivery to achieve SLAs and contractual commitments
  • Accountable for operational OpEx and CapEx planning and delivery
  • Develop hiring and workforce strategies for new campus openings and expansions
  • Own operational energy strategy and ensure compliance with sustainability requirements
  • Drive adoption of automation and digital tools to improve operational efficiency
  • Lead, coach, and develop operational leaders and teams

Required skills

  • Senior leadership experience in colocation, hyperscale, or mission-critical facilities
  • Track record of leading large-scale operations with accountability for uptime and customer service
  • Experience managing operational CapEx budgets
  • Knowledge of energy strategy and sustainability programs
  • Experience with automation and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong strategic planning capabilities
  • Customer-focused mindset with experience in service delivery
  • Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 30%)
