Overview

A.O. Hardee and Son, Inc. is looking for a Survey Assistant in Little River, South Carolina, to support the site surveyor with various tasks related to surveying and quality control on large-scale construction projects. This role will involve operating surveying instruments, collecting and processing data, and utilizing drone technology for topographical surveys.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the site surveyor in daily tasks such as setting up and operating surveying instruments.
  • Collect and process field data, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in staking and marking construction site boundaries and elevations.
  • Work closely with engineers and project managers to provide critical site development information.
  • Ensure all surveying instruments and drones are maintained and calibrated.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while operating drones and equipment.
  • Operate drones to perform topographical surveys and capture aerial imagery.

Required skills

  • Previous experience in a surveying role or civil construction layout.
  • Drone operation experience.
  • Basic knowledge of surveying tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and data recording.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Basic mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel to various construction sites as needed.
  • Basic knowledge of Trimble Business Center and Trimble GPS machine control equipment.
  • Part 107 Certification in drone operation is a plus.
  • AutoCAD experience is advantageous.
