Overview

The Surgical Tech - Obstetrics at OhioHealth is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures within the Labor and Delivery Unit. This part-time, as-needed role involves preparing the surgical room, maintaining a sterile environment, and supporting the surgical team by delivering instruments and supplies while ensuring patient safety and care during operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare for surgical cases by obtaining and setting up necessary supplies and instruments.
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field and present instruments to the operating team.
  • Assist the surgeon as a second assistant during procedures.
  • Conduct post-operative cleaning and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in unit operations for efficient department functioning.
  • Mentor new associates and support training initiatives.
