Job Description

Overview

The Surgery RN at OhioHealth is responsible for providing general nursing care to patients in a variety of acute health care settings. This position requires commitment to on-call shifts and emphasizes the importance of safety, quality, and efficiency in nursing practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments of patients
  • Document planned nursing interventions to achieve patient outcomes
  • Evaluate and revise the plan of care based on patient's responses to interventions
  • Participate in process improvement activities to enhance clinical quality and customer satisfaction
  • Delegate nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs as per Ohio Nurse Practice Act

Required skills

  • Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio or multi-state compact
  • BLS certification
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • At least 2 years of recent OR experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Commitment to on-call shifts with a 30-minute response time
