Overview

Palm Health Resources is seeking an experienced Surgical Physician Assistant to join their nationally renowned Cancer Center in Goodyear, Arizona. The position involves performing first assistant duties in various surgical procedures, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and managing patient care across multiple settings.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform first assistant duties in the OR and clinic
  • Conduct non-anesthesia minor surgical procedures without in-room supervision
  • Collaborate and communicate with surgeons and other medical providers
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat illnesses and injuries in various clinical settings
  • Educate and counsel patients
  • Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
  • Prescribe controlled substances and write orders for patient care
  • Provide call coverage and onsite patient rounding

Required skills

  • Certified Arizona licensed or eligible PA-C
  • Robotic surgery experience
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures including colorectal, breast, plastic, orthopedic, gynecologic, head & neck, thoracic,
  • Proficient in clinical information systems and documentation
  • Ability to navigate PACS and surgical information systems
