Overview

VieMed Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join their Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery team in Lafayette, Louisiana. This full-time role involves providing comprehensive patient care in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with experienced surgeons and advanced practice providers.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform inpatient rounding on postoperative and preoperative patients
  • Conduct surgical consultations and assist in diagnostic assessments
  • Provide emergency room call coverage for urgent evaluations and interventions
  • Manage a dedicated outpatient clinic overseeing postoperative patients
  • Assist in complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures

Required skills

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current certification/licensure as a PA in Louisiana
  • Experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgical settings (preferred)
  • Ability to perform in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings
  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
  • Team-oriented approach and commitment to patient-centered care
