Overview

The Surgery - General Physician Assistant position at Summit Recruiting Group is for a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Heart Transplant located in Boston, Massachusetts. This full-time, permanent role involves overseeing care for organ transplant candidates as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive pre and post-transplant care.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect clinical information about patients and potential donors
  • Summarize medical data and present information to the transplant team
  • Arrange diagnostic testing and treatment procedures for patients
  • Provide education to patients and families about transplantation
  • Interface with multiple providers for optimal patient care
  • Participate in a team providing 24-hour on-call coverage of patient-related phone calls
  • Perform history and physical examinations
  • Formulate care plans and order diagnostic tests
  • Document clinical encounters clearly and timely
  • Coordinate patient care to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Educate and serve as a clinical resource for staff

Required skills

  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Nurse Practitioner License
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • 0-1 years related work experience
  • MA Board authorization to practice as an APRN
  • Valid prescriptive authority from MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise (preferred)
  • Experience in Pain Management (preferred)
