Overview

Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join their Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team as a full-time Nocturnist at a Level II Trauma Center in Loveland, Colorado. This role involves delivering advanced overnight surgical and trauma care in a collaborative environment serving the Rocky Mountain region.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive overnight Trauma and Acute Care Surgery coverage
  • Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostics, and develop treatment plans
  • Manage trauma and emergency general surgery patients across inpatient settings
  • Assist trauma surgeons with procedures and ongoing patient management
  • Practice autonomously while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
  • Document all patient care using Epic EMR
  • Comply with medical staff bylaws, privileging standards, and clinical protocols
  • Maintain high standards for patient safety, quality, and performance
  • Participate in mentorship, leadership development, and continuing education programs

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice program
  • Master's degree in Nursing (for NP) or Graduate of an accredited PA program
  • Board Certification (NP: ANCC or AANPCB; PA: NCCPA)
  • Unrestricted Colorado license (NP or PA, as applicable)
  • Eligible for DEA and Medicare/Medicaid provider enrollment
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of Trauma Surgery experience or completion of a surgical fellowship
