Overview

The Department of Surgery at Banner University Medicine Tucson seeks a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Breast Surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join their multidisciplinary breast team. This academic position emphasizes collaborative care in an environment focused on education and research to advance breast cancer treatment in Tucson and Southern Arizona.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care as a breast surgeon with outpatient clinic and surgical responsibilities
  • Participate in a high-volume breast service with no general surgery call
  • Mentor medical students and general surgery residents through hands-on clinical instruction
  • Conduct lectures and didactics as part of academic responsibilities
  • Engage in innovative clinical trials and research initiatives
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care

Required skills

  • Board Certification or Eligibility by the American Board of Surgery
  • Fellowship training in Breast Surgery or Surgical Oncology
  • 3+ years of breast surgery experience preferred, but new graduates considered
  • Valid Arizona Medical License or eligibility
  • Desire to work in an academic setting
