Overview

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking 1-2 Physician Assistants for inpatient coverage in a hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery service. The role involves assisting in cardiac surgeries, rounding on ICU and floor patients, and provides a mix of weekday, weekend, and night coverage.

Key responsibilities

  • First assist in cardiac surgery
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
  • Insert chest tubes
  • Retrieve vascular tissues for bypass conduit
  • Round and coordinate patient care
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses
  • Order and interpret tests
  • Write prescriptions
  • Conduct suture removal

Required skills

  • NCCPA certified PA
  • Active New Jersey license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Minimum 2-3 years cardiac surgery experience
  • Proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)
  • Experience with EMR systems, preferably Cerner
