Overview

Amergis Locum Tenens is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide full-time first assist coverage in Cardiovascular Surgery at an academic medical center in Kentucky. The role involves working in a high-acuity environment with a focus on quality and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in morning rounds with faculty, typically with 5-10 ICU patients
  • First assist in cardiovascular procedures, including CABG
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting independently
  • Provide weekday and call coverage as required

Required skills

  • NP with RNFA certification or PA
  • License to practice in Kentucky for NPs and PAs
  • Minimum 1 year recent experience first assisting in cardiovascular procedures
  • Proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting
  • Strong first assist skills
  • Experience with Epic EMR
