Overview

Amergis Locum Tenens is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) with RNFA or Physician Assistant (PA) for a full-time position in Cardiovascular Surgery at an academic medical center in Kentucky. This role involves providing first assist coverage in a high-acuity environment focusing on quality patient care and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in morning rounds with faculty, typically handling 5-10 ICU patients
  • First assist in cardiovascular procedures, including CABG
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting independently
  • Provide at least one full week of weekday and call coverage

Required skills

  • NP certification with RNFA or PA certification
  • Valid Kentucky licensure for NP or eligibility for PA licensure
  • Minimum 1 year recent experience first assisting in cardiovascular procedures
  • Proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting
  • Strong first assist skills
  • Experience with Epic EMR
