Overview

Palm Health Resources is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a position in Winchester, Virginia. The role involves working closely with a team of surgeons and performing a variety of cardiovascular procedures in a beautiful hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide surgical first-assistance in cardiovascular surgeries
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting and other cardiac procedures
  • Manage perioperative patient care in ICU, step-down, and surgical floor settings
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities including nights and weekends
  • Work collaboratively with surgical team and communicate effectively with patients and families

Required skills

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Minimum of two years relevant PA experience in cardiovascular/thoracic surgery
  • Experience in critical care settings preferred
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control
  • Strong clinical assessment, analytical, and communication skills
