Job Description

Overview

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant to join their team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role involves providing medical and surgical care for both inpatients and outpatients, coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals in a patient-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide medical and surgical care for inpatients and outpatients in cardiothoracic surgery
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for physicians and PA/ARNP providers
  • Perform skills in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting
  • Collaborate with an experienced team of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Perfusionists, Physician Assistants, and Nurses
  • Participate in a full-time, Monday to Friday schedule with shared on-call duties

Required skills

  • Masters prepared Physician Assistant or BS with demonstrated experience
  • Board Certified
  • 3 years of experience in endovascular vein harvesting and surgical service
  • Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in written and spoken English
