Job Description

Overview

The Surface Designer at CFS will drive the design development of vehicle exteriors and interiors, translating design intent into high-quality digital surfaces. This role requires a creative individual with strong expertise in 2D and 3D digital design environments, focusing on aesthetic, form language, ergonomics, and overall user experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality Class-A surfaces and 3D digital models reflecting design intent and brand identity
  • Translate sketches and 2D layouts into refined 3D digital forms
  • Create compelling digital visualizations, renderings, and presentations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including designers, engineers, and production
  • Ensure consistency of form language and surface quality across vehicle components
  • Organize and manage design data within PLM systems
  • Manage multiple design iterations and timelines effectively
  • Produce clear documentation and concise design reports
  • Participate in design reviews, contributing insights on aesthetics and usability
