Description: Communicare is a community mental health center in North Central Mississippi that serves Calhoun, Lafayette, Marshall, Panola, Tate, and Yalobusha counties. Communicare offers specialized treatment services for adults with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, individuals with substance abuse disorders and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Communicare is currently seeking a Supported Employment Specialist in Oxford, MS. Job Title: Supported Employment Peer Support SpecialistQualifications: GED or High School Diploma, Certification as a Peer Support Specialist (may be obtained following start of employment)Responsibilities:Carry out all phases of employment services including Intake, Engagement, Assessment, Job Placement, Job Coaching, and Follow-Along Supports.Meet clients where they are, whether in the office or at their home in the assigned counties.Maintain individual caseloads not exceeding 20 active clients.Peer Support and Recovery:Provide peer support services to clients to support their recovery journey.Share personal experiences of recovery to build trust and inspire hope.Assist clients in developing their own recovery goals and strategies.Encourage and support clients in their efforts to achieve and maintain employment as part of their recovery process.Team Collaboration:Serve as a member of the Communicare Treatment Team and participate in team meetings as required.Communicate with mental health treatment team leaders to ensure integrated services, solve programmatic issues, and advocate for the value of work.Attend weekly supported employment supervision meetings and clinical treatment team meetings as needed.Training and Development:Attend and successfully complete any orientation, staff development activities, and other trainings as required by Communicare, the Department of Mental Health, or other oversight agencies.Complete a general orientation over all areas required by Communicare and DMH before providing services.Documentation and Reporting:Document services provided in accordance with Communicare, DMH, and Medicaid regulations.Submit any requested reports in a timely manner.Review current client outcomes with the team and set goals to improve program performance at least quarterly.Outreach and Engagement:Conduct outreach activities with agency staff and area employers.Speak to potential employers and attend job fairs.Screen each referral to ensure timely response and follow-through.Supervision:Work under the supervision/monitoring of the Supported Employment Supervisor, Coordinator, Director, and other designated supervisors.Perform other duties as assigned.1.
