Overview

The Supervisor Laboratory - Lab AdminGeneral at CHRISTUS Health is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of specific laboratory sections under the direction of the Laboratory Director or Manager. This role involves administrative responsibilities, supervision of laboratory personnel, and the implementation and maintenance of quality control and regulatory compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of high, moderate, and waived complexity test performance
  • Coordinate and organize work activities of assigned sections and shifts
  • Ensure compliance with policies and standards from regulatory agencies
  • Develop and maintain procedural manuals and quality control programs
  • Conduct performance reviews and assist in personnel development
  • Monitor test analyses to maintain acceptable levels of analytic performance
  • Train new technologists and technicians on procedures and policies
  • Manage inventory of supplies and reagents
  • Prepare administrative and technical reports as required
  • Participate in performance improvement programs and meetings

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology
  • 5 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or similar role
  • Active certification or eligibility for relevant laboratory certifications
  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems
  • Technical problem-solving and supervisory skills
  • Quality control and regulatory compliance experience
  • Instrumentation and laboratory procedures expertise
