Job Description

Overview

Pilot Flying J is looking for a Supervisor of Accounts Payable to manage the daily operations of the Accounts Payable Encoding function. This role involves supervising a team, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and improving processes to enhance efficiency in an established network of travel centers.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide daily direction to the accounts payable team
  • Review and approve vendor invoices for accuracy and policy adherence
  • Support procedure development and implement updates for compliance
  • Monitor and communicate KPIs to the Accounts Payable Manager
  • Oversee vendor maintenance including onboarding and compliance documentation
  • Respond to department-related inquiries via email and phone
  • Model company values and ensure high levels of support for guests and team members
  • Ensure compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • Minimum five years of experience in accounting or related area
  • Minimum one-year supervisory experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with Infor Financial & Supply Management or comparable systems
  • Familiarity with invoice management platforms like SAP Concur
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to collaborate across departments
