Overview

The Building Maintenance/Grooming Supervisor is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks for buildings and offices, including cleaning, snow removal, and lawn care. This role involves ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the facilities, assisting in daily operations management, and supervising station employees in Montreal.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance tasks for buildings and offices
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of facilities
  • Assist in daily operations management
  • Plan and direct activities of station employees
  • Participate in training of new employees
  • Prepare reports for management
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles with necessary inspections
  • Supervise building systems and ensure timely maintenance
  • Act as a first responder for building system failures
  • Liaise with suppliers for inspections and repairs
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Participate in internal and external audits

Required skills

  • D.E.S. or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures
  • Good physical condition and not afraid of heights
  • Leadership skills and good time management
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Availability for off-hours calls
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Team-oriented with customer-focused attitude
  • Knowledge of propulsion groups, diesel and gas engines
  • Practical knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and understand schematics for troubleshooting
  • Valid driver's license
