Job Description

Overview

As a Production Supervisor at American Biltrite, you will oversee a team of approximately 25 employees in a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the plant manager, you are responsible for ensuring safety and efficiency in production while maintaining quality standards and adhering to cost and delivery timelines.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to collective agreements and health and safety regulations while fostering positive work relationships.
  • Support safety processes to promote the company's safety culture.
  • Monitor health, safety, and productivity indicators.
  • Supervise a team across three different departments.
  • Track performance and quality metrics.
  • Validate time cards for supervised employees.
  • Plan and organize production to meet delivery deadlines and quality standards.
  • Manage unexpected replacements and effectively handle absenteeism and discipline.
  • Lead weekly and daily dashboard meetings with staff.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects using tools such as Kaizen, SMED, and 5S.

Required skills

  • Manufacturing activity experience
  • Supervision experience in a unionized manufacturing environment (3-5 years)
  • Knowledge of Kaizen, SMED, 5S
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions
  • Diploma in industrial management, industrial engineering, or administration or equivalent experience
  • Rigorous, organized, autonomous, and resourceful
