Overview

Ledesma & Meyer Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent for public school projects across California. The role involves oversight of construction activities, ensuring compliance with contract documents and safety regulations, while also leading a team to meet project goals and deadlines.

Key responsibilities

  • Review contract drawings, specifications, and addenda
  • Inspect work for compliance with codes and standards
  • Monitor productivity and performance of employees and subcontractors
  • Advise management on potential issues like work interference
  • Assist contractors in problem resolution
  • Develop project pre-plans including work sequences and resource management
  • Ensure compliance with design intent and owner satisfaction
  • Monitor project schedules and report delays
  • Conduct safety inspections and report potential dangers
  • Attend construction meetings and facilitate subcontractor coordination
  • Utilize construction management software for record-keeping
  • Liaise between project management, engineering, and contractors
  • Complete additional assignments as required

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience in California public school construction
  • Proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 and Project Sight
  • Understanding of K-14 school construction management and scheduling
  • Ability to pass a Department of Justice fingerprint background check
