Overview

Dedicated School Staffing is looking for compassionate and reliable Substitute Special Education Aides to support students with disabilities at the Putnam County Educational Service Center in Ottawa, Ohio. This part-time, on-call position is crucial for providing consistent support and helping students engage in their learning environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Work directly with students with various academic, behavioral, physical, and developmental challenges
  • Support implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and accommodations
  • Assist students in developing communication, social, and classroom participation skills
  • Provide personal care assistance as required, including mobility support, feeding, and toileting
  • Implement behavior support plans and use approved de-escalation strategies
  • Supervise students across various school settings
  • Assist with the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology
  • Maintain a calm and supportive presence during transitions or behavioral challenges
  • Record observations and report incidents according to school guidelines
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff for consistent student support
