Overview

Dedicated School Staffing is looking for dependable and attentive Substitute Lunch/Recess Monitors to provide support during lunch periods and recess at Rocky River City Schools. This part-time, on-call role is essential in ensuring a safe and positive environment for students when regular staff are unavailable.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise students in the cafeteria, playground, hallways, and other assigned areas.
  • Assist younger students with lunch routines, including opening containers and managing lines.
  • Monitor recess activities to ensure safe play and adherence to school rules.
  • Promote positive behavior and support students in problem-solving.
  • Maintain cleanliness by encouraging students to clean up and reporting hazards.
  • Communicate behavioral, safety, or health concerns to teachers or administrators.
  • Respond calmly to emergencies following school procedures.
  • Collaborate with school staff to maintain a supportive environment.

Required skills

  • Valid student monitor/educational aide permit or higher teaching license
