Overview

Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable and attentive Substitute Lunch/Recess Monitors to support student supervision during lunch and recess periods in Lakewood City Schools. This part-time, on-call role focuses on maintaining a safe and positive environment for students while encouraging respectful behavior and social interaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise students in cafeterias, playgrounds, hallways, and other assigned areas
  • Assist with lunch routines, including helping younger students open containers and managing lines
  • Monitor recess activities to ensure safe play and compliance with school rules
  • Encourage positive behavior, redirect conflicts, and support student problem-solving
  • Maintain cleanliness by reminding students to clean up after themselves
  • Communicate behavioral, safety, or health-related concerns to teachers or administrators
  • Respond calmly to emergencies and follow established school procedures
  • Collaborate with school staff to maintain a consistent and supportive environment
