Overview

Dedicated School Staffing is looking for enthusiastic Substitute Library/Media Aides to support the Rocky River City Schools. This part-time, on-call role involves assisting with the operations of the school library or media center in the absence of regular staff, helping maintain a welcoming environment that fosters reading and research skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with opening and maintaining the library/media center
  • Manage circulation tasks including checking materials in and out
  • Monitor student use of library spaces and equipment
  • Help maintain a clean and orderly environment
  • Provide guidance to students in locating materials and using the catalog
  • Assist students with basic research tasks and educational software
  • Oversee student use of computers and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Set up audiovisual equipment for classes or events
  • Assist with read-alouds and preparing materials for lessons
  • Process new materials and maintain basic records

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid educational aide permit or teaching license
  • Clean criminal background checks
  • Basic computer and technology skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly with students and staff
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 25 lbs
