Overview

Dedicated School Staffing is looking for dependable Substitute Food Service Workers for Wauseon Exempted Village Schools. This part-time, on-call position is critical in ensuring that students receive nutritious and safe meals, assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing and portioning food according to established menus and guidelines
  • Serve meals to students in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow food-handling procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, serving lines, and cafeterias
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and food service equipment as needed
  • Set up and break down serving lines and food stations
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and nutrition policies
  • Assist with inventory, stocking, and organization of food and supplies
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and school personnel
  • Provide friendly and professional service to students and staff

Required skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Clean criminal background checks with no disqualifying offenses
  • Ability to obtain Ohio ID account and enroll in Ohio RAPBACK program
  • Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move items as required
  • Dependability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
  • Compliance with the Ohio Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Educators
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Previous experience in food service, cafeteria work, or customer service (preferred)
  • Knowledge of safe food handling procedures (preferred)
  • Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment operation (preferred)
