Job Description

Overview

Dedicated School Staffing is looking for reliable and hardworking Substitute Food Service Workers to assist school nutrition teams at Bowling Green City Schools. This part-time, on-call position is essential for ensuring that students receive healthy and timely meals when regular staff members are absent.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing and portioning food according to established menus and guidelines
  • Serve meals to students in a friendly, efficient manner
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow all food-handling procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving areas, and cafeteria spaces
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed
  • Set up and break down serving lines and food stations
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and district nutrition policies
  • Assist with inventory, storage, and organization of food and supplies
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and school personnel
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and staff

Required skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Clean criminal background checks
  • Obtain Ohio ID account & enroll in Ohio rapback program
  • Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move items as required
  • Dependability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
  • Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Previous experience in food service, cafeteria work, or customer service (preferred)
  • Knowledge of safe food-handling procedures (preferred)
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment (preferred)
