Overview

Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable and compassionate Substitute Educational Aides for Van Buren Local Schools to support students and staff during absences. This part-time, on-call role is essential for maintaining a safe and productive classroom environment by assisting with instruction and providing individualized support to students, including those with special needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist classroom teachers with instruction and supervision
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support, including for students with special needs
  • Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher
  • Support students with daily routines and classroom engagement
  • Supervise students in various settings including classrooms and playgrounds
  • Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment
  • Follow lesson plans and established safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and staff
  • Document student observations and incidents as required

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Ohio educational aide permit or higher teaching license
  • Clean criminal background check
