Overview

The Student Ministry Lead at Sunrise Church will coordinate ministry efforts for Middle School and High School students and their families, focusing on fostering spiritual growth and discipleship. This full-time role involves strategic leadership, program development, family engagement, volunteer management, care, and administrative duties to support the church's mission.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a vision and strategy for the Student Ministry in alignment with the church's mission.
  • Plan and oversee weekly gatherings, small groups, and mid-week programs for students.
  • Engage with parents and families, providing resources to encourage faith formation at home.
  • Recruit, equip, and empower adult volunteers to mentor students.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, building authentic relationships.
  • Manage the Student Ministry budget and maintain event documentation to assess effectiveness.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Ministry, Youth Ministry, Education, or related field; Master's degree is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in student ministry within a church setting
  • Strong understanding of collaborative, family-focused ministry
  • Proven leadership development, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to connect with both students and families
  • Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings
