Job Description

Overview

At Daniel Defense, as an Engineering Student Intern / Co-Op, you will gain hands-on experience in various engineering functions such as Research & Development, New Product Development, Electrical, Design, and Manufacturing engineering. This role involves contributing to projects that improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and quality standards while further developing your engineering skills in a real-world setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to environmental health and safety principles
  • Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of firearms and accessories
  • Develop technical data packages including CAD models and 2D drawings
  • Maintain and construct work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Contribute to cost estimates, risk assessments, and design reviews
  • Create and execute test procedures for new technologies
  • Provide technical support to sales and marketing for new products
  • Collaborate with team members to implement operating procedures
  • Participate in fixture and gage design for handling and inspection
  • Contribute to the company's continuous improvement efforts in Safety, Quality, and Productivity

Required skills

  • Mechanical, Manufacturing or related Engineering major in-progress
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
  • 1 year of related experience or training
  • Experience in SolidWorks (3D modeling required)
  • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Exposure to Finite Element Analysis preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fixtures and gaging systems
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks under deadlines
